Yang Zuotang

Chinese calligrapher, born in Nanjing in 1948, with ancestral roots in Wuxi. His father, Yang Jianhou, was a painter and art educator trained by Xu Beihong.

Guided by his father, he devoted himself to calligraphy, especially small regular script and semi-cursive script. Since the 1990s his work has been shown in museum exhibitions and published internationally. He is Chairman of the Yang Jianhou Foundation, Director of the Jiangsu Xu Beihong Research Association, and a member of the Jiangsu Calligraphers Association.
